We are looking for an LPG Vessel Operator for one of our global shipping clients. The candidate will work with the team to ensure effective and efficient coordination of fleet vessel operations. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant experience, especially gas carrier’s vessel operations and good understanding of post-fixture work, laytime and demurrage calculations.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and ensuring that the voyages are performed in a compliance with the relevant contracts with due consideration to the commercial strategy. Being responsible for maximising profit for each voygage.
- Negotiate and procure bunkers for spot market ships
- Maintain up to date and manage all department / fleet operational records, files and databases
- Maintaining close communication with all stakeholders of the voyage, including charterers, ship masters, customers, brokers and etc
- Monitoring of vessel movements for executing of activities including off-hire, stoppages and delays
- Liaise with the Commercial department concerning any vessel information requirements and with the fleet and manning teams on vessel movements and voyage scheduling
- Arrange all routine invoicing and funding for voyage costs, including agency appointments, non-compulsory pilotage and surveyor’s attendance
- Assist in department projects or additional duties as and when required
- Actively participate in the development of the quality management system and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Maritime Business
- Min 2 years of relevant experience, especially gas carrier’s vessel operations and good understanding of post-fixture work, laytime and demurrage calculations.
- Experience in using Voyage Management System such as Softmar or Veson will be an advantage.
- Good organisation skills with ability to apply reasoning and judgment on critical issues.
