Vessel Operator (Containers)

We are looking for an experienced and energetic Container Vessel Operator for one of our global shipping clients. The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of container vessel operations experiences and possesses excellent working attitude and has an appetite for continuous learning and development.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for daily vessel operations and is required to provide prompt operational support through monitoring the company’s fleet of container vessels. You will ensure that their Charter Party (CP) terms and company policies are closely complied and adhered to.

You will work closely with the all the relevant stakeholders to gather information and assist them in pre and post fixture work, load and discharge port responsibilities. You will plan, coordinate and monitor all 3 phases of time charter (Pre-time charter, during time charter and prior completion of time charter). In addition, you will arrange weather routing services and arrange for load-line re-measurement when required.

You will also liaise with captains and ship masters to ensure documentation is done properly and meets high standards of compliance. You will also be expected to undertake a range of activities that include but not limited to, maintaining voyage plans and all its associated information, monitoring and coordinating invoicing pipeline activities etc. You will enjoy using your planning and analyst skills to know exactly what’s happening when and on which ships.


Requirements

  • Diploma holder and above
  • Good communication skills – spoken and written English
  • Good negotiation skills and people management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and can work independently as well as in a team
