We are looking for an experienced and proactive Vessel Manager with a strong background in LNG Vessel management for one of our global shipping clients. The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of shore-based experience as Vessel Manager managing gas carriers/ FRSUs. He/she would possess a good working attitude and can work under pressure and meet deadlines. Fresh from sea C/E are welcome to apply. This position will be based in KL, Malaysia.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally conscious operation of assigned vessels (typically 3-5 Gas vessels, primarily LNG and FSRUs).
- Ensure vessel compliance with relevant rules and regulations, with a focus on the ISM code, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, flag state, port state, and industry-specific requirements.
- Supervise daily operational activities of all assigned vessels.
- Manage and keep management updated on all technical matters, vessel operation, budgetary performance and any incidents of the assigned vessels.
- Responsible for planning and execution of all dry-docking activities within the allotted budget limits.
- Provide support to the vessels & technical operations as and when required.
- Maintain technical statistics and records.
- Participate in the evaluation of Shipboard Management Systems.
- Organize Management Reviews and ensure the implementation of action items.
Qualifications:
- Technical or maritime qualifications with seagoing experience as a Motor Chief Engineer on LNG vessels and/or FSRUs, or a maritime degree with shore-based experience as a Vessel Manager for LNG vessels and/or FSRUs will be an advantage.
- Strong command of both oral and written English.
- A focus on environmental responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with shipboard staff, vessel owners, charterers, and internal/external support teams.
