We are looking for an experienced and proactive Software Delivery, Senior Manager, for one of our international MNC clients. Our client is embarking on an exciting multi-year program, encompassing the creation of multi cloud-native projects that stand as integral components of their Business & Digital Transformation initiative. This endeavor, facilitated by strategic partnerships with leading software developers, seeks to leverage agile methodologies, microservices architecture, and Azure DevOps to establish our client as a digital frontrunner in their industry.
As the Senior Software Delivery Manager, your primary goal is to oversee and enhance the software development function. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality software, optimize team performance, and align software projects with the company’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate would have extensive experience on cloud services and have at least 10 years of managerial experiences in this field.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Global Operations:
- Formulate and execute the strategic plan for the Software Delivery function in line with company goals, encompassing acquisition, development, and maintenance strategies.
- Continuously evaluate the software delivery resource strategy (requirements, development, quality assurance, support, and maintenance) to adapt to evolving software needs.
- Establish a flexible management framework to address software delivery requirements across the organization, promoting seamless global operations and collaboration across different time zones.
Collaboration & Integration:
- Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and DevOps teams to fulfill organizational requirements efficiently.
- Cultivate partnerships with vendors to enhance organizational capabilities, catering to evolving business demands on short notice.
Stakeholder Management:
- Exhibit attentiveness, responsiveness, and respect towards stakeholder requests.
- Oversee end-to-end business operations and coverage areas by respective business systems.
- Regularly report progress to senior stakeholders (e.g., SteerCo) and manage stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
Team and Project Oversight:
- Lead and manage software engineers, ensuring the establishment and adherence to best coding and documentation practices.
- Supervise all aspects of development, testing, and application implementation.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect to review design approaches, ensuring architectural integrity.
Operational Excellence:
- Provide support for bids, proposals, and marketing activities as needed.
- Take the lead in resolving technical issues promptly.
- Develop technical specifications and code for complex business features.
Quality Assurance & Frameworks:
- Implement and oversee quality assurance processes and tools to ensure high-quality and secure software delivery.
- Institutionalize the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) across multiple software development teams.
Budgeting & Resource Allocation:
- Develop and manage the budget for the software delivery department.
KPI & Metrics Management:
- Define, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for the software development department.
Requirements
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in cloud services (e.g., Azure, GCP, AWS), along with exposure to infrastructure automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Terraform, or equivalent, as well as software development and application security testing tools (e.g., Jenkins, Sonarcloud, Snyk, CheckMarx, etc.).
- A robust background in software architecture and a commitment to security-first design.
- Significant knowledge and experience in the maritime industry.
- A minimum of 10 years of managerial experience, including the management of architects, technical managers, and developers.
Contract Duration:
- This position is initially for a 2-year term, with the potential for extension based on performance. Rewards will be linked to achievements during this period.
Travel Requirements:
- This role may involve up to 30% travel.
