We are looking for a self-driven and meticulous Ship Operator for one of our shipping broker clients based in Singapore. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in ship operations who enjoys working in a collaborative, commercially focused environment.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience as a ship operator, who is able to support the team in delivering smooth and efficient voyage operations, working closely with Brokers and clients to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor vessel schedules and performance at both loading and discharge ports
- Coordinate and issue voyage instructions aligned with charter party terms
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of documentation across the voyage lifecycle
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to resolve operational matters effectively
- Manage hire-related invoicing, including calculations for bunkers, off-hire, and deductions
- Support Brokers with operational follow-ups and customer communication
- Handle ad-hoc issues promptly to maintain service continuity and client satisfaction
Requirements
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in commercial ship operations
- Proficiency in Mandarin is required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy in execution
- Calm and solutions-oriented approach, especially under pressure
- Self-driven with a willingness to take initiative and learn continuously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
