We are looking for a strategic and highly experienced Senior Category Executive for one of our global shipowner clients. The Senior Category Executive will be responsible for managing high-value procurement categories critical to global vessel operations, ensuring cost-efficiency, supplier reliability, and strategic value return.
The ideal candidate will have extensive procurement experience within the Maritime, Oil & Gas, or Offshore sectors, with a deep understanding of category management and strategic sourcing. This role works closely with technical management teams, internal stakeholders, and a global network of vendors to drive procurement excellence and support the operational efficiency of a world-class fleet.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Category Management: Take full ownership of high-value spend categories critical to global vessel operations.
- Sourcing & Negotiation: Lead complex contract negotiations and develop strategic sourcing plans to optimize supplier performance and value.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct deep-dive demand analysis and monitor global market trends to stay ahead of industry shifts.
- Supplier Governance: Manage global vendor relationships, including conducting on-site audits and performance reviews to ensure uncompromising quality.
- Innovation: Drive key projects focused on procurement efficiency and digital transformation.
Requirements
- Industry Expertise: Minimum 10 years of procurement experience within a Ship Owner, Ship Manager, or Offshore/Oil & Gas environment.
- Category Mastery: At least 5 years of dedicated experience in Category Management with a proven track record in strategic sourcing.
- Education: Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Skills: Exceptional negotiation and data analysis skills (Excel/PowerPoint), with a high sense of integrity and resourcefulness.
- Mobility: Ability to travel locally or overseas for vendor management as required.
