Program Manager

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Program Manager for a global shipping client. This role involves overseeing a team of Scrum Masters, managing transformational projects from inception to completion, promoting on-ground adoption of solutions with users, and dynamically addressing issues.

The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in digitalization or system implementation projects and must have certification in Agile.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but not limited to budget management, timeline oversight, progress reporting on digital transformation initiatives, identifying and resolving gaps reported by project managers, and ensuring that project delivery meets the Company’s business requirements.

Progress Monitoring:

  • Develop and define KPIs and their associated metrics.
  • Set standards for progress reporting for Scrum Masters, and enhance processes to boost efficiency or facilitate growth.
  • Track project progress across different phases, ensuring budget and cost control, milestone completion, and adherence to timelines.
  • Oversee the delivery of projects, aiming for successful outcomes and anticipating any potential issues that might affect the project.

Leadership and Interdepartmental Coordination:

  • Lead a team of six, including Scrum Masters.
  • Devise strategies for managing and coordinating various initiatives, emphasizing project interdependencies, and promoting collaboration and synergy among different teams.
  • Evaluate actual resource allocations and optimize their utilization to ensure project success.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and issues that could impact project delivery.
  • Implement quality control measures and propose mitigation plans and solutions to proactively address challenges, ensuring project success and minimizing disruptions.

Stakeholder Management and Communication:

  • Create presentations and documents for project progress reports and relevant meetings (e.g., monthly steering committee) to update on the progress of individual projects.
  • Effectively communicate project updates, milestones, and outcomes to stakeholders (including the steering committee and superusers), fostering transparency and alignment.
  • Use matrix reporting as part of tracking and reporting project progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in digitalization or system implementation projects.
  • Mandatory certifications in Agile (e.g., SCM, SAFE).
  • Strong business acumen to understand priorities and the drivers behind them.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of digital technologies.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptualization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Additional certifications in relevant areas such as PMP, ITIL, or specific technology platforms are a plus.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
