We are looking for an energetic and strong service-oriented Vessel Operator for one of our global shipping clients. The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years of experience operating chemical tankers that carry cargoes such as Methanol, Acetone, Palm oil, Caustic soda and etc.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for daily vessel operations and is required to provide prompt operational support through monitoring the company’s fleet of chemical vessels. You will ensure that their Charter Party (CP) terms and company policies are closely complied and adhered to.
You will work closely with the all the relevant stakeholders to gather information and assist them in pre-and-post fixture work, load and discharge port responsibilities. You will plan, coordinate and monitor all 3 phases of time charter (Pre-time charter, during time charter and prior completion of time charter). You will also be expected to undertake a range of activities that include but not limited to, maintaining voyage plans and all its associated information, monitoring and coordinating invoicing pipeline activities etc. You will enjoy using your planning and analyst skills to know exactly what’s happening when and on which ships.
Qualifications
- Diploma holder and above
- Good communication skills – spoken and written English
- Good negotiation skills and people management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and can work independently as well as in a team
