We are looking for an experienced and proactive Marine HR Manager for one of our global shipping clients. The Marine HR Manager will be responsible in leading the Marine HR team and functions for assigned vessels or fleet.
The ideal candidate would have at least 3 years experience in the Maritime Operations. He/she would possess good working attitude and has the ability to communicate well.
Responsibilities:
Operational:
- Handling HR matters concerning manning of vessels with qualified, certified, and medically fit personnel for assigned fleet
- Handling planning and placement activities of seafarers for assigned fleet, with a focus on long term planning
- Ensure high level seafarer compliance with flag state and company requirements
- Ensuring crew database is fully updated for assigned fleet
- Create, follow up and approve budget and cost control for assigned vessels
- Follow up on P&I cases
- Plan and participate in vessel visits as required by Client
- Participate in internal and external audits as required
- Follow-up on seafarer feedback surveys and propose improvements
- Lead, motivate and follow-up on dedicated Marine HR team; follow-up on engagement surveys and personnel cases
- Be the main contact point for all Clients of assigned fleet
Strategical:
- Monitor assigned Marine Personnel agents serving assigned fleet operate according to Client requirements
- Contribute to initiatives connected to welfare and other benefits on assigned vessels
- Contribute to business development as and when required by Marine HR Management
- Actively participate in process improvements and implementations concerning Marine HR
- Actively contribute to enhance seafarer satisfaction
- Contribute to establish, develop and follow-up on Marine HR KPIs and local AOP as applicable
- Involve and engage direct reports and their teams to improve engagement, job satisfaction and productivity
Additional responsibilities and tasks
- Identify and contribute to training and competency development needs to Competence Development & Training
- Perform performance reviews with direct reports
- Involve and engage direct reports and their teams to improve engagement, job satisfaction and productivity
- Contribute to business development as and when required by Global Business Development team
- Lead the recruitment for direct reports in Marine HR team
- Participate in special projects as given by Marine HR Management
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years experience from Maritime Operations and/or HR
- Excellent English communication skills
- Efficient decision maker & Customer focused
- Experience from senior leadership roles in maritime industry
- Teams player with proactive and solution-oriented approach
