We are looking for a self-driven and experienced Agency Network Management Manager for one of our shipping clients. The role will oversee the selection, governance, and performance management of agencies within the company’s global network, including subsidiaries and third-party agents. The position also supports regional investment projects, M&A activities, and strategic transformation initiatives in line with HQ directives. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of container shipping experience with direct exposure to governance, finance, or regional operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of countries, focusing on agency corporate governance, performance oversight, and commercial activities.
- Lead and monitor governance frameworks, including board and ownership structures, CAPEX/OPEX controls, and commission agreements.
- Collaborate closely with the Agency Finance Controller to review the financial performance of entities in your portfolio, covering operating expenses, cash flow, dividend declarations, and cost-plus implementations against approved budgets.
- Plan and finalize annual budgets in partnership with agencies and HQ stakeholders; oversee budget execution.
- Support the project management of assigned M&A initiatives.
- Engage with various HQ business units and stakeholders to assess, review, and implement improvements that enhance agency performance.
- Lead investigations and integrate stakeholder feedback into problem-solving efforts; establish or refine preventive procedures.
- Assist in executing transformation projects in line with HQ directives and contribute to strategic discussions that drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain strong relationships and communications with local partners on corporate matters, ensuring robust corporate governance, in coordination with the Corporate Entity Management team.
- Oversee Detention/Demurrage waiver processes and manage third-party billing for container repair commercial waivers.
- Willingness to travel as required for on-site reviews and partner engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Corporate Law, Maritime Studies, or related field. ACCA or equivalent preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience, including 3–5 years in corporate or regional management, preferably in container shipping.
- Strong financial acumen, governance knowledge, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
