We are looking for a self-driven and experienced Key Account Manager for one of our shipping clients. He/She will manage and execute commercial activities globally and will have exposure to work with reputable international brands. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of working experience in commercial roles for the ocean-freight services, with strong leadership, negotiation, communication skills and with a keen interest in providing optimal customer service experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Customers
- Global Account Manager for 2-3 corporate customers ensuring growth in support from our key customers.
- Develop and maintain strategic long-term trusting relationships with key global customers to accomplish growth by providing sustainable solutions.
- Focused on sourcing opportunities and drive development plans converting leads into sales.
- Serve as contact point for key customers and internal teams.
- Be the first to know about customers’ strategies and development plans so that we can align ourselves to their needs.
- Respectfully respond to customer enquiries and resolve complaints in an efficient/effective manner.
- Measures, tracks and analyzes key account metrics.
- All round understanding of the market, the global products offer by customer and competitor; And devise a marketing strategy to better position our product offering to the customers.
- Ownership of revenue and contract management tender negotiations.
- Any other ad hoc tasks as assigned by manager.
Processes & Systems
- Ensuring that commercial processes are reviewed regularly and updated.
- Best practices of contract administration are shared amongst regional hubs.
- Cross hubs management of structured deals and tender negotiations.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime, Business, Logistics, or a related field, with minimum 5 years of experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or the logistics industry.
- Proven success in business and account development.
- A proactive and assertive approach with the capacity to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced organization.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft software (eg. PowerPoint, Words, Excel, etc), CRM, etc.
