We are looking for a committed and detail-oriented HR Executive for an established and international shipowner client. The HR Executive will handle the day-to-day human resource (HR) functions that support the entire employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate will manage essential HR operations (such as payroll processing, benefits administration, HRIS management) and provide support to the HR management team in business partnering activities.
HR Operations
- Manage the day-to-day operations across the entire employee lifecycle to ensure smooth HR functions.
- Handle payroll processing with accuracy and timeliness, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations and proper handling of employee income tax matters.
- Administer employee welfare and benefits programs including group insurance, HR-related claims, long service awards, health screenings, school fees, and absence management.
- Maintain and optimize the HR system to ensure data integrity and provide training for system users.
- Assist with expatriate-related matters, such as work visa applications and relocation arrangements.
- Manage statutory and governmental requirements, such as national service, maternity and childcare claims, and government survey submissions.
Business Partnering Support
- Assist in workforce planning and support talent acquisition and succession planning initiatives.
- Support recruitment activities including candidate screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, onboarding, probation monitoring, and confirmation processes.
- Manage offboarding, including exit interviews, pro-rated benefits calculation, final day confirmation, and feedback collection.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, performance appraisals, and professional development efforts.
- Assist line managers in identifying training needs and bridging skill gaps in alignment with business goals.
- Advise on HR policies, organizational changes, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure HR practices are compliant with labor laws and contribute to fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
Projects and Assignments
- Support or lead HR projects, assignments, or ad hoc duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager, Human Resources.
Qualifications / Experiences
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Development, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with a multicultural workforce is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, HR systems, and data tools.
- Working knowledge of payroll administration.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation and statutory requirements.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- A team player with a positive attitude.
- Experience with Workday HCM is an advantage.
