We are looking for an experienced Engineer, Structural Design for a global shipping firm. The role supports the safe and efficient transport of our clients project and breakbulk cargoes through advanced design and analysis. He/she will collaborate closely with technical teams to design, evaluate, and optimize cargo stowage and structural integrity solutions for complex marine operations.
The ideal candidates would have at least 3 years of relevant experience in ship, offshore or marine structural design and has good knowledge of structural mechanics and material science.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for ships, offshore units, and cargo handling equipment.
- Use advanced FEM structural analysis tools (SolidWorks, Ansys Mechanical, or Simcenter Femap).
- Ensure compliance with classification society rules and industry design guidelines.
- Support development of stowage and securing solutions for complex and heavy-lift cargo.
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement in engineering design methods.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
- Good knowledge of structural mechanics and material science.
- Hands-on experience with FEM structural analysis software.
- Familiarity with vessel motion dynamics preferred.
- 34 years of relevant experience in ship, offshore, or marine structural design (preferred).
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow in a dynamic industry.
