Our client is a reputed global shipbroking company and they are looking for an experienced and energetic Panamax Shipbroker to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding of the dry cargo brokering market and possess strong commercial acumen and a professional code of conduct in handling confidential information.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Dry Cargo Shipbroking, this position is responsible to broker panama vessels and cargoes to shippers, traders who are charterers and ship owners globally. He/she will develop and maintain a strong client base of ship owners and charterers for dry bulk products such as Iron Ore, Coal, Bauxite, Fertilizer etc.
He/she will be expected to closely monitor the direction of the markets, interpreting trends and seeing opportunities and advising clients accordingly. He/she will also be expected to assess the viability and risks of pursuing new business opportunities and also maintain sound judgement, transparency and compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- At least 3 to 4 years of shipbroking experience and with proven track record in the Panama market.
- Have excellent communication skills and strong numeracy and IT Skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills and strong people engagement skills for building of network.
- Independent, resourceful and ability to work under pressure in a fast pace and dynamic environment.
