We are looking for an energetic and self-driven Dry Bulk Technical Superintendent for our client, a well-established international shipowner based in Singapore.
This is an excellent shore-based opportunity for a Chief Engineer with at least two years of sailing experience in rank on bulk carriers who is ready to transition ashore. The Technical Superintendent will be responsible for the safe, reliable and cost-effective technical management of the company’s assigned bulk carrier vessels.
The ideal candidate will have sailed as Chief Engineer on dry bulk vessels and possess strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, budgeting and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day technical operations of assigned bulk carriers.
- Monitor vessel maintenance, machinery performance and technical deficiencies.
- Conduct vessel inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
- Prepare and control technical, repair and dry-docking budgets.
- Plan and oversee dry-dockings, repairs and vessel modifications.
- Ensure compliance with class, flag and statutory requirements.
- Investigate technical incidents and ensure timely resolution.
- Work closely with vessel crews, shipyards and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Marine Engineering qualification or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ sailing experience as Chief Engineer on dry bulk vessels.
- Fresh-from-sea Chief Engineers are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Good understanding of vessel maintenance, repair planning and budget control.
- Familiarity with ME Electronic, MC Conventional or RT-Flex engines will be advantageous.
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
