We are looking for an experienced Digital Strategy and Application Solution Manager to drive digital transformation initiatives within the maritime sector for our client. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to drive innovative solutions and digital strategies in the maritime sector, ensuring alignment with business goals and technological advancements. Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills are essential as you collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver impactful digital solutions.
The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years each in solution design and agile project management. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead strategic IT projects, applying agile methodologies and innovative solution design to optimize operational efficiency and align with business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management
- Plan, estimate budgets, report, schedule, and manage resources for projects and change requests. Apply Agile methodologies to manage end-to-end project lifecycles, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Business Requirements
- Engage with business stakeholders to identify and document digital needs, translating them into actionable project specifications. Ensure project goals align with overall digital transformation objectives.
- Business Process Management
- Analyse and document existing business processes. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Change Management
- Apply change management processes to manage stakeholders’ expectations and facilitate smooth transitions during project implementation.
- Solution Design & Development
- Design IT solutions to meet specifications and lead their development, integration, and testing to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Solution Deployment & Maintenance
- Oversee application deployment, execute verification procedures, and manage implementation and maintenance activities, addressing issues as they arise.
- Internal Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with applications owners and other IT members. Work with internal business management to identify and prioritise application support needs, issues, and digital transformation projects.
- Vendor Management
- Facilitate and maintain relationships with vendors/partners, negotiating contracts, creating standards for the vendors, and finding the best available vendors.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems Engineering or other relevant disciplines.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience (for Deputy General Manager level)
- At least 5 years of managerial (meaning having direct reports) OR people management experience or project leadership experience (functional leadership)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in solution design and agile project management in complex, multi-site environments.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) is required.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering IT transformation projects, achieving financial and operational improvements, and implementing change strategies.
- Familiarity with IT applications and systems including Business Intelligence Tools in maritime sector.
- Strong understanding of business processes
- Solid technical and functional knowledge of application architecture best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel for business purposes
