We are looking for a self-driven and experienced Deputy Manager, Slot Management for one of our shipping clients. This role will lead Singapore’s slot planning function, ensuring optimal utilization of vessel space cross the company’s fleet and partner lines. The role involves close coordination with Trade, Transshipment, Local Operations, and Partner teams to manage forecasts, monitor vessel loading, and address any space shortfalls. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of container shipping experience with a focus on vessel efficiency, cost control, and smooth cargo flow through Singapore.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate team resources to manage daily inbound and outbound slot operations efficiently and on time.
- Manage slot planning, last-minute space adjustments, and partner slot negotiations to optimize vessel space utilization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Trade, Transshipment, Local Ops, Partners) to ensure forecast accuracy and address operational challenges.
- Drive continuous improvements in slot planning processes to support company goals on productivity and cost efficiency.
- Mentor and coach team members to ensure capability development and consistent high performance.
- Ensure relevant slot performance metrics and reporting structures are in place and reviewed regularly.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or higher qualification in Logistics, Transportation, Business Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in the container shipping or logistics industry.
- Solid knowledge of container shipping operations and vessel space management.
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders across departments and external partners.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
