Data Analytics Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and self-driven Data Analytics Engineer for one of our global clients. The candidate will work with analyst teams and translate questions from different business areas into automated data analytics solutions. You will act as the interface between business-focused analysts and technology-focused data engineers. You will also work with a wide variety of data, including geospatial, commodity trading, and financial market data.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience solving complex business problems, simplifying complex structures, and working with Azure Databricks and Tableau, with minimal guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will support different teams by translating business-related questions into actionable data-backed answers.
  • Develop and implement analytical models using Python, PySpark and/or SQL
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis
  • Define data requirements for our data engineering team, who add data sources to our platform
  • Support analyst teams in creating data visualizations using Tableau
  • Be a sparring partner for strategic alignment of our data platform, i.e. discuss future use-cases, data models, etc.

Qualifications/ Requirements

  • Working experience in shipping, trading or trading is nice to have.
  • Strong cultural, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven track record in data analysis, data storytelling and visualization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Experience in using Azure Databricks and Tableau will be an advantage.
