We are looking for an experienced and proactive Compensation & Benefits Specialist for a leading and established MNC. The candidate will oversee and administer employees’ compensation and benefits for Singapore and Malaysia, assess business and employees’ needs, and propose targeted programs to enhance performance, organizational trust, and employee satisfaction.
The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of solid experience in compensation and benefits, HR practices, and compensation cycle management (annual bonus, annual increment, budget exercises).
Responsibilities
- Define a fair, equitable and competitive total compensation and benefits package that fits and is aligned to company’s strategy and business goals.
- Develop a consistent compensation philosophy in line with work culture and organisational objectives.
- Ensure that compensation practices are in compliance with current legislation (internal pay equity, local legislations etc).
- Use various methods and techniques and make data-based decisions on direct financial, indirect financial and nonfinancial compensations.
- Responsible for the end-to-end annual salary review and bonus process by working closely with all Business Line leaders to ensure salaries and bonuses proposed are within approved budget.
- Lead the annual manpower budget exercise jointly with Finance to ensure timely and in full submission of the budget.
- Analyse trends in benefits especially medical benefits and insurances for insights and market trends in developing a compelling and competitive proposal for annual insurances renewal and forward-looking benefits to attract, retain and motivate high quality employees.
- Benefits / Leave administrator: drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. Manage and maintain the leave module in the HRIS system and full spectrum of benefit programs (for example, medical insurance, dental claim).
- Assess employees needs by conducting organisational pulse surveys to find out what motivates and engages employees.
- Prepare job descriptions, job analysis, job evaluations and job classifications for internal and external salary benchmarking purposes.
- Participate in salary and labour market surveys to determine prevailing pay rates and benefits.
- Differentiate pay systems to invest in the segments of workforce that contribute the most value.
- Deploy effective communication strategies and success metrics.
- Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues, and best practices.
- Conduct periodic audits and prepare ad-hoc data requests or reports as required.
- Any other duties as assigned by the head of department that is part of HR business partnering.
Requirement:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources Management or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of solid compensation and benefits experience (Singapore and Malaysia) supporting different stakeholders in established MNCs or local international companies with at least 500 headcounts per country.
- C&B experience in “blue collar” workforce will be a huge advantage.
- Proven solid experience in HR practices, compensation cycle management (annual bonus, annual increment, budget exercises).
- Adequate knowledge of current labour law and regulations.
- Knowledge of leading practices and trends in Total Rewards including compensation, benefits, rewards and HR systems.
- Proficient in HRIS system, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Discipline and trustworthiness when handling confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships at all levels of the organization with a good business aptitude.
- Driven and a self-starter who enjoys learning and working in a fast-paced environment to develop structure and procedures from scratch for greater efficiency.
