We are looking for an analytical and energetic Commercial Analyst for one of our global shipping clients. The candidate will be responsible to support management reporting, analysis and development of the company’s business. He/she will gain exposure to all divisions of the group, including Analysis/ Research, Operations, Chartering, Ship Finance and Vessel Performance. The ideal candidate would have 1-2 years’ experience in commercial analyst work, takes initiative, challenge existing ideas and has strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The candidate must be able to work well independently as well as in a highly collaborative team environment.
Job Description
Reporting
- Preparing weekly/monthly market commentaries for existing clients
- Preparing monthly/quarterly vessel earning reports for existing clients
- Creating/maintaining internal reports for Operators/Charterers/Management
Interaction with current/prospective clients
- Evaluating prospective pool vessels
- Preparing presentations for current/prospective clients
- Assist in relationship maintenance by interacting with Investors/Partners/Ship Owners
Databases/BI Software
- Keeping databases/dashboards up to date
- Visualising information through Business Intelligence Software
- Compiling competitor and benchmark results and analysing earning releases
Other
- Market Research
- Running fleet P&L results & analysing vessel performance
- Ad-hoc analysis across all sectors improving Group productivity
Requirements
- Minimum Maritime/Shipping related degree or analytical degree in Maths, Science, Economics, Finance, Engineering, etc
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Performs well under pressure and in time constrained situations
- Keen interest in shipping and oil sector
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
- Business Intelligence Software and Database experience desirable
