We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Manager for one of our global shipping clients. This role sits within the Group Financial Control function and is responsible for corporate reporting, financial control, and compliance across the company and its subsidiaries, including an investment holding entity. The ideal candidate is technically strong in IFRS, experienced in financial reporting and consolidation, and comfortable leading a small team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
- Review monthly and quarterly corporate reporting and consolidated financial statements
- Oversee financial reporting of overseas subsidiaries and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements
- Act as key reviewer for month-end closing and quarterly reporting for corporate functions
- Ensure alignment with group accounting policies and reporting standards
- Support budgeting and analysis of Group SG&A expenses
Compliance, Audit & Tax
- Oversee statutory and tax compliance matters, including corporate income tax, GST, and transfer pricing
- Lead and coordinate the annual audit process, ensuring timely delivery of audit requirements
- Review tax computations and filings across relevant jurisdictions
Operational & Process Improvements
- Oversee revenue and management fee billing processes, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Drive finance process improvements and implementation initiatives (e.g., digital invoicing requirements)
- Partner with internal stakeholders to strengthen financial controls and reporting processes
Investment & Corporate Oversight
- Oversee financial reporting for the investment holding entity
- Support fair value assessments and valuation processes during year-end audits
Leadership & Projects
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small team
- Drive and manage ad-hoc projects with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy or equivalent with a professional qualification (e.g., CPA/ACCA/CA)
- At least 3 years of experience in a managerial role, preferably within the maritime or asset-heavy industry
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
- Working knowledge of GST, corporate tax, and transfer pricing
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
