IT System Engineer

We are looking for a proactive & experienced System Engineer for one of our global IT team. The candidate will be responsible for managing, supporting and maintaining on-premise systems and cloud infrastructure of the company. He/She will work together with the Network, Security and Development team members to administer, manage and support on-premise and Microsoft Azure cloud systems and workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system administration duties in Hybrid environment; Private cloud (VMware/Hyper-V), Microsoft Windows 2019 server (or above), Microsoft Azure public cloud, Microsoft SQL and Confluent cloud platforms.
  • Work with Solution/Cloud Architect to propose, create and support workloads/resources in Azure.
  • Check and validate design changes by internal team and external vendors in Azure Production and Non-Production environment. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Monitor and ensure optimal system performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with consultants/developers to implement those fixes. And ensure system’s availability and reliability in Production environment.
  • Perform system patching and ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
  • Perform data management and backup duties for both on-premise and cloud systems and applications.
  • Assist with Vulnerability Assessment & Penetration Test (VAPT) and IT audit exercises with IT security team members and external vendors.
  • Involved in the planning and execution of annual IT DR drills.
  • Be a part of the Microsoft Azure DevOps process, support the CI/CD pipeline and administer the Azure DevOps portal.
  • Perform project management duties for infrastructure projects as and when needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Proven track record as DevOps Engineer.
  • Proven track record in Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-103) certification is mandatory.
  • Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) like Terraform, Azure CLI and PowerShell.
  • Proficiency in Confluent Cloud and Kafka.
  • More than 5 years of relevant experience as a System Engineer;
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Hybrid (Azure Cloud & On-prem) environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure related technologies and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Gitlab.
  • Experience in SaaS cloud such as Microsoft 365.
  • Experience in Container based architecture and deployments (Azure K8S (Kubernetes) and Docker)
  • Good knowledge about identity and access management (sailpoint), Azure AD, Active Directory, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Hyper-V, SQL database (Azure SQL MI), Cosmos DB, kSQL.
  • Familiar with backup tools like Commvault, Azure Backup is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio and documentation.
